The 3rd Sino German Complex System Reliability Symposium (SGWRCS 2024) was successfully held at our university

On April 22-24, the Third Sino German Complex System Reliability Seminar (SGWRCS 2024), co sponsored by the School of Power and Energy of Northwestern Polytechnical University and the Risk and Reliability Research Institute of the University of Hannover in Germany, and co organized by the "the Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance, was held in the Flying Hall of the Flying Conference Center of Northwestern Polytechnical University. The bilateral seminar was funded by the international cooperation and exchange project of the Sino German Science Center of the National Foundation Committee "Bayesian conference and upgrading for reliability analysis of complex systems under incomplete knowledge". The chairman of the meeting is Professor Michael Beer, Director of the Risk and Reliability Research Institute at Hanover University in Germany, and Associate Professor Wei Pengfei from the Advanced Engine Fuel Control Team at the School of Power and Energy.

The guests and academic presentations of this seminar will be determined by invitation, and more than 70 people will attend and exchange ideas on site. This meeting focused on the reliability engineering, risk management, and resilience of complex engineering systems in critical infrastructure and advanced manufacturing industries, covering topics such as uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analysis, model updating and validation, and design under uncertainty in different disciplines. It has enlightening significance for the reliability research of complex systems in the aerospace field.

On the afternoon of April 22nd, the conference registration and reception will begin. The report meeting will officially start at 8:30 am on the 23rd and end at 7 pm. In the opening speech of the conference, Professor Michael Beer first emphasized the importance of researching the reliability of complex system systems, and affirmed the achievements of the collaborative research experience between the Risk and Reliability Research Institute of Hanover University led by him and Associate Professor Wei Pengfei's team over the years. He also expressed gratitude to our organization.

Subsequently, Associate Professor Wei Pengfei introduced the main topics and expected outcomes of this seminar, expressing the hope that through this exchange, on the one hand, the latest research results of both sides can be deeply exchanged, and the scope and intensity of collaborative research can be strengthened and deepened. On the other hand, a bridge of cooperation between master's and doctoral students from China and Germany can be built, so that they can establish a broad and in-depth international cooperation network during their degree studies, and have a good international perspective and collaborative research ability. On the 23rd, there were exciting presentations and lively interactions during the on-site questioning session.

On the morning of April 24th, a closed door meeting was held to conduct in-depth discussions and exchange of views on the progress and issues of the Sino German international cooperation and exchange projects hosted by both sides. Preliminary plans were made for personnel exchange visits between the two sides for this year and the next year, and consensus was reached on the timing and content of the visits.

This bilateral seminar has greatly deepened the cooperative relationship between our university and a renowned German technical university. It is a highlight event of our university's international cooperation work this year, and its successful hosting marks the normalization and deepening of international cooperation between our university and a renowned German technical university. At the same time, it has laid a solid foundation for joint talent cultivation between the two sides.
