School of Power and Energy Visits Singapore and Hong Kong for Talent Recruitment and Exchange Cooperation
 

In order to implement the high-quality development action plan for talent work and vigorously strengthen the introduction of overseas talents, from April 14 to April 21, 2023, the school led a team to Singapore and Hong Kong to carry out a series of overseas talent recruitment activities. Yan Yuzhou, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Power and Energy, Wang Zhiwu, Vice President, Professor Wang Dingxi, the "Talent Introduction Ambassador", and Associate Professor Li Quankun, a young teacher, formed a group to participate. While conducting talent recruitment, the school specializes in communication and cooperation activities with relevant universities and departments.

During the recruitment period in Singapore, the college organized communication activities with Professor Zhang Huangwei and his team from the National University of Singapore, and Professor Ivan CK Tam's team from Newcastle Singapore. The symposium held in-depth discussions and discussions on potential talent sharing, scientific research cooperation, and joint training in the future. After the meeting, we had in-depth exchanges and discussions with young scholars on academic requirements, career development, and policy benefits.


During the visit to Hong Kong, the college held multiple exchange activities with Professor Wong Lai sik's team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong, and the Department of Civil Aviation and Aeronautical Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. We had in-depth exchanges on talent introduction and recommendation, international cooperation, scientific research cooperation, joint training, and GPPS International Promotion Conference, and reached an intention for long-term cooperation in the future.


Through this visit, the college has reorganized the talent reservoirs in Singapore and Hong Kong and reached preliminary cooperation intentions on related matters. The next step will be to continuously connect with cooperating universities, track and closely connect with relevant scholars for a long time, further implement the cooperation intentions and talent attraction effectiveness reached in this exchange activity, and serve the construction of "Double First Class".

During their visits to Singapore and Hong Kong, the school delegation held discussions and exchanges with alumni associations in both regions. The college delegation specifically visited Yang Aiguo, Secretary General of the Singapore Alumni Association of West Polytechnic University and 81 year old alumnus of the college, Zhang Pei, President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association of West Polytechnic University and 02 year old alumnus of the college, and other alumni. Yan Yuzhou introduced the development overview and construction achievements of the college in recent years, and expressed care and blessings to the alumni. The alumni expressed their willingness to do their best to promote outstanding talents for their alma mater and the School of Power and Energy, Provide support and assistance to visiting teachers and students, and assist in the high-quality and rapid development of the college.
