On June 6, 2024, under the leadership of Professor Wang Zhiwu, the vice dean of the School of Power and Energy, and Kong Dehai, the head teacher of the 2022 Lingyun Class, all the students of the 2022 Lingyun Class visited the Aero Engine Turbine Institute for practical learning. Zhao Chunguang, the director of Human Resources of the Turbine Institute, and Qiu Xiaobing, the secretary of the Human Resources Department Party Branch, made warm arrangements for the practical activities.
On the morning of June 6th, all the teachers and students visited the old site of AVIC Turbine Institute at Songhua Ridge for a study trip and ideological and political education before going abroad. They successively visited the Songhua Ridge Museum, the Third Front Construction Museum, and the Memorial Hall of Academician Liu Daxiang, learning about the history of the construction of the high-altitude test stand, as well as the spirit of labor and establishment of the institute, the medium thrust spirit, and the spirit of earthquake relief of AVIC Turbine Institute. They also visited the old site of the high-altitude test stand in person.
On the afternoon of June 6th, teachers and students visited the Science and Technology Innovation Center of China Aero Engine Turbine Institute located in Mianyang. Reviewed the important milestones in the development process of aviation engines in China, and demonstrated the new directions and opportunities for the current development of aviation engines. Subsequently, all teachers and students participated in a symposium with the "old, middle, and young" generations of turbine institute graduates from the School of Power and Energy at Northwestern Polytechnical University, encouraging students to not forget their aspirations and to forge a Chinese heart, continue to work hard in their future studies and lives, reserve talents, and make greater contributions to China's aerospace industry.
The red culture permeates the Jingjing Valley, and although time has passed like flowing water, it has left an indelible three line mark on the Taotao pine forest. Generations of builders who have participated in the aviation industry have devoted their most precious and brilliant youth to the aviation industry, leaving their footprints of pursuing glory and dreams on the land of our motherland. Through this practical learning experience, students have gained a deeper understanding of the spirit of aviation development. They cherish the opportunity to participate in the joint training program in Russia, work hard, never forget their original aspirations, keep in mind their mission, and return to China as soon as possible to devote themselves to the great cause of building a strong aviation nation in our country!
