The GPS-Xi 'an 2021 International Conference on Power and Propulsion is jointly organized by School of Power and Energy, Northwestern Polytechnical University and School of Energy and Power Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University. Sponsored and supported by enterprises and units such as Air China Development Group, Shaanxi Blower Group, Editorial Department of Propulsion Technology, Hangqi Group, Key Laboratory of High Altitude Simulation Technology, Bijia Turbo, Chichiyi Technology, etc. The GPS-Xi 'an 2021 International Conference on Power and Propulsion was held in Xi'an for the first time, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in power and propulsion under the carbon reduction target. It attracted the enthusiastic response and active participation of nearly 500 researchers from more than 19 countries. The conference will be held online from April 11 to 13 (Beijing time) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professor Yan Hong, Deputy Dean of School of Power and Energy, and Professor Feng Zhenping from Xi 'an Jiaotong University are co-chairmen of the conference. The conference opened online at 14:00 Beijing time. Professor Yan Hong, chairman of the conference, presided over the conference and Professor Feng Zhenping delivered the opening speech. He extended a warm welcome to all participants and stressed China's strong measures in green power and propulsion, hoping to work together with the global researchers in the field of power and propulsion to achieve green propulsion.
In order to ensure the smooth progress of the conference, the International cooperation Department of the School of Power and Energy has set up a working group to actively plan and formulate participation plans according to the conference schedule. The working group recruited more than 30 Session chairs and 35 volunteers, and the General Office of the college arranged special conference rooms for the volunteers responsible for the conference to ensure the smooth progress of the conference. In addition, the college has developed a detailed emergency plan for web conferencing, which is in the charge of the young teachers of the Dongqing Society.
