In order to strictly manage the academic links and ensure the training quality of international graduate students, on the afternoon of December 20, the School of Power and Energy held a centralized opening and defense meeting for the "1+1" dual degree joint training master's thesis of Northwestern Polytechnical University Kazan National Technical University online. Zhang Fuli, Director of the International Cooperation Department and Dean of the School of International Education, Li Sheng, Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Wang Zhanxue, Dean of the School of Power and Energy, Wang Zhiwu, Vice Dean, Liu Cunliang, and defense experts, as well as all joint training international graduate students and guidance teachers, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Wang Zhiwu.
Firstly, Wang Zhiwu introduced the attendees and expressed gratitude for their arrival.
Next, Zhang Fuli welcomed and congratulated the 8 international graduate students from Lianpei who came from afar. He pointed out that this joint training was only a small step for the eight students, but it was a milestone event for Northwest Polytechnical University and Kazan National Technical University. Under the dual impact of time constraints and the pandemic, both parties have overcome many difficulties and successfully reached the master's joint training program. We would like to express our special gratitude to the School of Power and Energy for their efforts and dedication. Zhang Fuli also stated that he will provide the best resources for his classmates and hopes that they will have a smooth and fruitful stay at Western Polytechnic University.
Li Sheng emphasized that our school attaches great importance to the joint training program with Kazan National Technical University and has established a dedicated working group to ensure the learning, research, and life of international graduate students in the joint training. He hopes that international graduate students will devote themselves to research and strive to improve the quality of their papers, and that the training unit will fulfill the responsibilities of being the first responsible supervisor. All departments will increase collaboration and continuously improve their service guarantee capabilities. He also wishes the joint training of graduate students from the two universities fruitful results.
Wang Zhanxue, on behalf of the School of Power and Energy, warmly welcomed 8 international graduate students from Kazan National University of Technology for joint training. Next, under the leadership of Yan Hong, the leader of the defense expert, 8 international graduate students conducted their master's thesis opening defense in sequence. Eight students gave a detailed introduction to the topic and answered the questions raised by five defense experts carefully. The defense expert group affirmed the careful preparation of all students, expressed overall satisfaction with the research direction, content, methods, and significance that each student intends to carry out, and also put forward suggestions and opinions. It is hoped that students will carefully revise and improve, laying the foundation for high-quality research and high-level papers in the future.
The "1+1" dual degree joint training master's program conducted by Northwestern Polytechnical University and Kazan National University of Technology is currently a rare case in China that introduces high-level foreign master's students to China for reverse training.
