Professor Zhu Huiren, PhD Supervisor, was born in 1958, and received his Bachelor Degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1982. He had been in Japan for a further education in Kyushu University in 1992 and worked in Oxford University in 2002.

He is a member of the Ministry of Education Teaching Supervisory Committee for Thermal Engineering Courses and a director of theNational College Engineering Thermal Physics Society.Professor Zhu Huiren is a famous expert in the field of aero thermal theory, heat transfer and cooling technology for aero-engine high temperature components. His research topics mainly include: film cooling, turbine blade thermal analysis, numerical simulation of flow and heat transfer in complex structures, single-parameter or two-parameter measurement theory and technique in heat transfer experiments, flow and heat transfer measurement theory and technique under steady and unsteady conditions. He has presided dozens of research projects including state 973 Program, National Defense 973 Program and some international cooperation projects as well.Professor Zhu has won 7 provincial science and technology progress awards and 2 personal awards. And he is the author or co-author of more than 100 papers in archival journals and professional textbooks. His major achievements:Proposed Low Reynolds number k-epsilon turbulence model for turbine blade heat transfer calculations which can simulate the transition process of boundary layer flow on turbine blade surface from laminar zone to transition zone and to turbulent zone;Proposed two-dimensional model for the film cooling computation on the turbine blade surface which can automatically simulate the film cooling process;Developed a thermal analysis and calculation program for complex cooling structures of turbine blade to achieve the optimal design of internal and external cooling structure for turbine blades based on many years’ accumulation of flow and heat transfer data for turbine blade internal cooling structure and film cooling;Systemically studied the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the laminate structure;Developed a thermal analysis and optimization calculation program for laminate structure;Developed a calculation program for the integration calculation and optimization analysis of the multi-stage heat shield combination of combustion chamber;Responsible for the establishment of China's first short cycle transonic wind tunnel for turbine blade heat transfer and film cooling research;Responsible for the development of whole surface heat transfer measurement techniques for complex cooling structures and film cooling using thermochromic liquid crystal.
